RBIM Cloud guide
What should a barangay household information system manage?
A useful barangay system helps authorized staff maintain resident information over time. The daily update process matters as much as the initial data collection.
Keep a clear household record
Define a household identifier, location reference, fields needed for actual services, and the source of each important entry. A barangay should be able to correct moves, splits, duplicate records, and changed membership without losing the reason for an update.
The Registry of Barangay Inhabitants and Migrants digital system is one approach to organizing this work. The CPD has promoted RBIM for local demographic and socioeconomic information; an LGU should check how it fits with its current official systems and policies.
Separate planning views from named records
Counts and aggregate maps may be enough to plan a program. Named records should be available only to staff with an authorized purpose. Explain collection and sharing to residents, and set clear correction and retention practices.
The National Privacy Commission's guidance applies to LGU handling of personal information. The system's users and administrators need practical access rules, not only a privacy statement.
Plan who will run it
Where local server capacity is limited, RBIM Cloud can provide managed hosting, administration, maintenance, and technical support for the RBIM digital system. A demo should cover the barangay's current process and the responsibilities that remain with the LGU.
